Skipton law firm Mewies Solicitors joins Race for Life

Mewies Solicitors showed a united front at the weekend when three members of staff took part in Cancer Research UK’s Race for Life 2010 at Broughton Hall.

The Mewies team consisted of Andrea Brewster, Emma Hayes-Milner and Amanda Worger (pictured). It was a real family affair as Amanda’s seven year old daughter joined the race and other members of staff joined as a support team and to enjoy a group picnic in the beautiful grounds of Broughton Hall afterwards. The team endured stifling temperatures of 26° and between them, and with a little help from the firm, managed to raise upwards of £350 towards cancer research. Well done ladies!

Skipton Law Firm Mewies Solicitors Continues To Expand

Mewies Solicitors has appointed experienced conveyancing Legal Executive Helen Akroyd to boost its property team. Helen, who became a Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives in 1998, joins the firm with more than 11 years’ experience gained handling house purchases and sales in Leeds and Bradford. She deals with all aspects of the conveyancing process including preparing Home Information Packs (HIPs), sales, purchases, remortgaging and transfers of equity.

Partner Ian Armstrong who heads up the conveyancing team along with fellow Partner Christopher Jackson said, “We are delighted to welcome Helen on board. She brings with her considerable experience and a full skill set for meeting the needs of our conveyancing clients.” Helen’s appointment brings the total number of staff employed by the firm to 22.
